  • Sakura is a kunoichi female ninja.
  • When assigned to Team 7 , Sakura quickly finds herself ill-prepared for the duties of a shinobi.

While the main characters from the hit anime series Naruto may now be grown-up with their own kids who feature in the sequel series Boruto , fans of the original show will never forget its action-packed scenes and engaging story-arcs.

Plus, the interpersonal drama between the characters often created several love triangles. Though in the case of Naruto , a lot of its love triangles tended to be one-sided often leading to comedic and even tragic events. However, this group came about due to a series of tragedies beginning with three orphans named Nagato, Konan, and Yahiko.

Meeting during a tumultuous time when ninja clans fought each other for dominance, Madara Uchiha and Hashirama Senju were both enemies and like-minded friends who fought for peace. Whether Tsunade reciprocated these feelings or not is unclear especially in the wake of the tragedies that befell those closest to her.

During the middle portion of Naruto: Shippuden , which was the second half of the original series, Sasuke Uchiha was branded a criminal by the Konoha village for not only siding with Orochimaru but also the Akatsuki organization. Around the same time, Sasuke had gained several followers, including Karin. Then later in the series, we learned about his former teammates Obito Uchiha and Rin Nohara.

Much like Team 7, there was a one-sided love triangle going on between all three of them. This was briefly the case for Naruto Uzumaki and Rock Lee, who both had feelings for Sakura, despite the fact that she wasn't interested in either of them.

With that said, both boys still retained their romantic interest in Sakura until their adult lives when they married other girls. This was certainly the case for Sakura and Ino, who started off as friends when they were children but then became bitter rivals over their affection for Sasuke despite becoming friends again later. Then Naruto married Hinata some years later and they had two children, which included the title hero of Boruto. Among the many things that made Naruto appealing as an anime series, we were invested in the dynamic between the members of Team 7 which included the title hero his rival Sasuke and main love-interest Sakura.

Yet, this was a classic one-sided love triangle. Naruto liked Sakura but she was in love with Sasuke, who at the time seemed indifferent to her. I need you here with me. In the beginning of the series, Sakura had a massive crush on Sasuke Uchiha. Even so, she saved Sasuke from lossing himself time to time by using her feelings to get through to him. By Shippuden, after Sasuke was willing to kill Sakura, she tries to give up on him and resolves to help kill the now rogue ninja.

Of course, she can't bring herself to do so, making her feel useless to love once again. After Sasuke's redemption, he opens up to the idea of starting a relationship with Sakura. They eventually marry and have a daughter named Sarada.

It's implied that Sarada may have a crush on Naruto's son, Boruto. At first, Sakura pretty much hated Naruto for being a brat and while excited to be on Sasuke's team is sickened when Naruto joins as well. When Sasuke and Naruto team up to take down various rogue ninja, Sakura begins to see that Naruto is just as impressive as Sasuke.

She believes in Naruto and doesn't want to see his dream crushed. He however, doesn't believe it. Naruto eventually outgrows his crush on Sakura and marries Hinata. Lee developed a crush on Sakura upon meeting her for the first time.

Various times he tries to ask her out and the like but it never goes very well for him. We do eventually learn later in "Naruto:the Last" that Naruto's feelings for Sakura were another way for him to compete with Sasuke, but his feelings cannot be simply denied.

My question is: has Sakura ever shown signs of love, not friendship, towards Naruto throughout the series? I don't agree with the answer above or any answer on the Internet for that matter. I watched Naruto Shippuden dubbed and subbed and to my understanding, Sakura did develop feelings for Naruto and people usually skip those episodes because they are fillers.

After defeating Pain, Sakura recalls her days with Naruto not Sasuke and realizes that she has developed feelings for him. Later in canon episodes , she decides to get rid of Sasuke herself because she felt responsible for it somehow. Sometimes, fillers are made to tune the main story and you should not skip these fillers if you like watching this show.

Every answer I saw described the situation poorly, so I decided to pen down the real story, in my belief. Sakura did like Naruto, but the problem is that she was not mature enough and believed herself "deserving" for Naruto, as he was a hero, unlike Sasuke.

On the plus side, Naruto knew Sakura was not meant for her so he downright says her "No" on episode Sakura's feelings. Later in series, she realized her "true" feelings towards Sasuke as he helped Naruto defeating Kaguya and got what she deserved abandoned and knocked by her dear loverboy, whose thorns she desperately needed for 6 years. Update: I rewatched the entire Shippuden again, and my new conclusions somehow contradict this my old answer.

So here it is:. Sakura loves Naruto, but only platonic. She shares sympathy with him and they are good friends. She cares about him and that's why she confessed her love. There are two side-effects in the cannon because of this: 1. Naruto realizes that Sakura can never be together with him the same episode Sakura proposes to Naruto.

He realizes that he actually never loved Sakura himself. And that was the moment he knew Sakura and Sasuke belongs together.

Writer stitches the story beautifully there. And because of this, his self-righteous self forces him to sacrifice himself to bring back Sasuke. As he owes that to Sasuke. Sakura gained some real heat after this scene from fans, as she seemed to neglect Hinata. But for me, this scene was pure satisfaction, her being rejected by our hero. Sakura belonged to Sasuke. Naruto knew this.

That was a pivoting moment of the plot. If Sakura had never confessed her love, Naruto probably went for a kill in the fight followed that episode. And we know he could easily swamp Sasuke as he was tired from the Danzo fight. But again, probably Obito intervened earlier, but in any case, the story would turn differently. So yeah, Sakura loved Naruto. But not as much as she loved Sasuke. She had undying respect for the former. Some of the information contained in this post requires additional references.
